HDPE Membrane

HDPE membrane is a high density Polyethylene membrane also known as alkathene or polythene. It is commonly recycled and thermoplastic polymer produced from ethylene monomer.High density polyethylene is popular because of its low material cost and best chemical resistance. This membrane is considered thicker as compared to geomembrane. This type of water and chemical resistant membrane is installed by trained installers and used widely across all applications. It is installed to line the base of landfills, pond linings and water containment projects. This material is considered exposed lining materials which have high UV resistance quality.

This type of membrane is commonly used for wide applications and made up of plastic which has a liner structure with few branches lending to its density ratio. As a result of such plastic’s molecular mixture this material shines brighter comparatively and resists moisture highly.

HDPE membrane was introduced in market after 1930s; it is high density version of waterproofing membrane sheets and vary in its flexibility. High density grades are considered more suitable materials for water containment projects.

High density polyethylene is normally used to form a waterproofing membrane but also used to make shampoo bottles, toys, pipe systems, milk jugs, recycling bins, Grocery bags, flower pots and Cereal Box liners.
